Before leaving the coaching of Team India, Ravi Shastri gave a statement on the appointment of Rahul Dravid

New Delhi, Online Desk. The Indian cricket team will withdraw from the tournament in the ICC T20 World Cup on Monday 8 November by playing in the final league match. With this tournament, Indian T20 team captain Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri will also farewell. New coach Rahul Dravid will take charge of the team. Shastri talked about the new coach and expressed his views on him.

Coach Shastri's tenure will end with the T20 World Cup. Dravid has been appointed as the new head coach of Team India. He will take over the responsibility from the next series against New Zealand. Shastri said, "I think in Rahul Dravid, the team has got a coach who has inherited a great team and a man of his stature, the experience he has, now the level is going to be even higher."

“The journey I have had as a coach so far has been wonderful. When I took up this job I told myself that I wanted to do something different and I felt I did. Sometimes life doesn't have all the things you can accomplish. Want to do, that's the thing you have to overcome. All these players have overcome such things in the last five years. The way they all traveled to every corner of the world and performed at every place Shown that too in all formats, leaving aside what happened here (T20 World Cup), this is one of the best teams in cricket history.

Dravid has been chosen as the head coach by the BCCI advisory committee only last week. Sulakshana Nayak and RP Singh selected for the post for the next two years. His tenure is also going to start with the home series against New Zealand starting in India from November 17. After this, India has to go on a tour of South Africa at the end of December. The team will then host West Indies, Sri Lanka and South Africa at home.

On being appointed as the coach, Dravid said, "It is a great honor for me to be appointed as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team. I am really excited to take on this role. The team has done very well under Mr. Ravi Shastri's coaching. And I hope more for him to work with the team to get him going."
