Waqar Younis made lewd statement after India vs Pakistan match, now apologizes

New Delhi, Online Desk. Former Pakistan fast bowler Waqar Younis on Wednesday apologized to the fans for the statement he made after the India vs Pakistan match. Waqar Younis, while praising his players after the India vs Pakistan match of the T20 World Cup 2021, said that Muhammad Rizwan had offered namaz to Hindu people, which was the biggest thing for him.

Now Waqar Younis has written an apology on his Twitter account and said, "Looking at the warmth of the occasion, I had said something which I did not mean to say, which has hurt the sentiments of many people. I am sorry for this. I don't mean it at all, it was a real mistake. Sports unite people regardless of caste, color or religion. Apologies."

In fact, in the T20 World Cup 2021 opening match against India, Pakistan team opener Muhammad Rizwan batted brilliantly and thanked God after sitting on his knees after half-century. Apart from this, Rizwan had offered Namaz during the drinks break. Regarding this, Waqar Younis had said that he liked this thing more than his batting that he had offered Namaz among Hindu people.

Waqar Younis said on ARY News, "The way Babar and Rizwan batted, the strike-rotation, the expressions on their faces were amazing. The best part, what Rizwan did, Mashallah, he surrounded Hindus. Offered namaz on the ground, that was really special for me." However, this statement was not liked by cricket fans around the world apart from Pakistan cricket fans, for which he was also criticized.
