After announcing his retirement from politics, former Bharatiya Janata Party leader Babul Supriyo, who joined the Trinamool Congress, has once again made a big statement in front of the media. He said that I am not making any history by changing the party. Even before this many big leaders have changed the party. I would like to thank Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee for giving me a chance in their 'Playing 11' team. I am aware of trolling on social media and am ready to face it.
He further said that I have been in politics for the last seven years and will try my best to do better here as well. I thought this is a good opportunity for public welfare (on joining TMC). Apart from this, he said that I am an MP from Asansol, I will go to Delhi on Wednesday, if the speaker gives me time, then I will resign from this post on the same day.
At the same time, after joining TMC on Saturday, Babul Supriyo while addressing the media said that I am proud to change my decision. I have come to TMC to serve Bengal. I am very excited. I will meet Didi on Monday. I am overwhelmed by the warm welcome.
However, during this time he also clarified on the announcement of retirement. He said that when I said that I was leaving politics, I had said this from my heart. All my friends had said that my decision to quit politics was wrong and taken out of emotion.
